Βασίλης Σολιδάκης was born in Sitia of the Island of Crete, Greece. He boasts to be an 'Eteocris', who is considered to be the indigenous people of Crete with roots in the Minoan period. Solidakis received training in painting since 1968 and continued his studies in the period 1973-1985 with Dimitris Perdikidis in Madrid, Spain. He had his first solo exhibition in 1978 in Athens. More one-man and group shows followed in Greece and abroad.

Luigi Aloys-François-Joseph Loir, dit Luigi Loir was born December 22, 1845 in Goritz, Austria and he died February 9, 1916 in Paris. Luigi’s parents were of French origins, but his family lived in Austria as employees of the French royal family, the Bourbons - his father was a valet while his mother was a governess. In his catalogue raisonnée on Luigi Loir, Noé Willer explains how "since the French Revolution, Gorritz (which was known as ‘the Austrian Nice’) was a refuge for royalists and particularly the Bourbon branch of the family". The earliest years of Luigi’s life, then, were spent in the Gorritz castle, but shortly after his birth, the Loir family relocated, along with the Bourbon family, to the Duchy of Parma, around 1847.

Born in Stavanger, Norwegian painter Truls Espedal earned a BA in Illustration and a Master of Arts in Visual Communication from the Kent Institute of Art and Design in England. His work has been seen in numerous solo and group shows across Norway.
In addition to his fine art work, Truls is also an accomplished designer who has several album covers to his credit.

Daniela Astone was born in Pisa, Italy and raised in Porto Santo Stefano, in Maremma (Italy), a costal town south of Florence. She discovered her passion for drawing and painting at a very young age, and began nourishing and cultivating her craft early on.
In 1998, after graduating from the High School for Visual Arts of Grosseto, she moved to Florence to study illustration at the International school of Comix.
Upon arriving, she first worked in illustration, then, in 2001, enrolled in
The Florence Academy of Art, where she is now an instructor. In 2003, Daniela participated, as a student, in the exhibition, "
Realism Revisited" at Panorama Museum, Bad Frankenhausen, Germany.

John Poppleton was born and raised in the suburbs of Sacramento, CA. He was introduced to photography during his junior year of high school in 1988.
He pursued all areas of photography very passionately as a hobby until becoming a professional portrait photographer in 1993, after several friends convinced him to photograph their weddings.
It has always been John’s goal to create something original and different but fantasy portraits were never part of the plan.

Stephen Cefalo is an
American artist in the traditions of
Symbolism and the
Baroque. He was born in the hometown of
Albrecht Durer (
Nurnberg, Germany) on the birthday of his heroes,
Winslow Homer, Charles Le Brun and
Franz Von Stuck, and felt a calling from early childhood to become a painter. Stephen and his two sisters were raised in Newburgh, Indiana by a single mother who worked full-time at a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. His aunt Marilyn gave him oil painting lessons at twelve, and his mother bought him books on figure drawing and supplies when she found them.

Japanese by birth, Chie Yoshii moved to the US, where she completed BFA at Massachusetts College of Art in 2000 and studied with
Adrian Gottlieb from 2002 to 2008.
Much of her work is inspired by the analogy between mythological tales and the human psychology.
She currently lives and works in Los Angeles.

Inspired by the example of his elder brother
Angiolo and his cousin
Adolfo, Ludovico Tommasi devoted himself to painting, developing his art in close contact with
Silvestro Lega, a frequent visitor to the Tommasi family villa at Bellariva. He made his debut at the Florence Promotrice in 1884 with a life study.
After his military service in Milan between 1888-1891, Tommasi and his brother
Angiolo frequented the cultural circle that gravitated around Giacomo Puccini at Torre del Lago, and it was here that he came into contact with several exponents of the Tuscan artistic avant-garde, including Galileo Chini and Oscar Ghiglia.

"Smile" is a song based on an instrumental theme used in the soundtrack for the 1936 Charlie Chaplin (1889-1977) movie Modern Times.
Chaplin composed the music, while John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons added the lyrics and title in 1954. In the lyrics, based on lines and themes from the film, the singer is telling the listener to cheer up and that there is always a bright tomorrow, just as long as they smile. "Smile" has become a popular standard since its original use in Chaplin's film. It was used as the theme song on NBC-TV'S The Jerry Lewis Show from 1967-69.

To look at a Jim Salvati painting, is to experience a snapshot into the soul of his subjects. Each person portrayed in his work, which is thick and textured with oil paint, is telling a story about the life of the person, the emotion of that moment in time, their world surrounding them, and a warm sense of the human condition and its uniqueness. "We all have stories,” Salvati says, "and I like telling them".
